Après quatre années d'existence, l'initiative LifeGrid a pris officiellement fin le 30 Septembre 2010

Projets

The LifeGrid platform unites all scientific stakeholders in Auvergne (public and private laboratories, businesses) by creating a regional information system that will organise, store and distribute the data obtained from research.

LifeGrid projects

Environment themes

LifeGrid projects on the environment, focusing on all of the natural and cultural conditions likely to have an impact on living organisms and human activities.

i-bio ontological management project of distributed bioinformatics resources

the purpose of i-bio is to show that the introduction of the ontology concept is a decisive stage in the organisation of information and management of IT resources. Throughout the LifeGrid call for tender, the project aims to produce a prototype fulfilling a function of the Clermont-Ferrand Modelling Unit for biological research laboratories in the region.

Reorganisation and development of an information system using the databases of the Institut des Herbiers universitaires de Clermont-Ferrand

This complete overhaul and development of the system should improve site functioning, system security, service for the general public, scientists and users and optimise the networking

SIMEXPLORER : Platform assisting the exploration and analysis of simulation models

The increased importance of sustainable development as a challenge for society increases demand for environmental dynamics models to understand and anticipate change to be able to help define future policies. At the same time, the increase in memory and computing power of machines means that ever more detailed models can be developed, particularly individual-centred (IC) models representing all of the system’s entities and their interactions. But such models often behave in a complex way that is difficult to understand, which considerably hinders their practical use.

Development of the CHLORIS information system "Flora and vegetation in the Massif Central"

The project entails two distinct but complementary tasks:
i) shift from the current information system CHLORIS® to a new software platform that is more performing and secure (Oracle 10.g , MapInfo MaxXtrème 2004, Windows Server 2003);
ii) creation of a website giving access to the information in CHLORIS® (location of species and habitats, statuses of indigenity, rarity, threats and protection, etc.) and to various pieces of summary information: maps showing the location of species and habitats at different scales (France, Massif Central, regions, counties), list of species or vegetation present in a particular town or group of towns, presentation (text and photos) of the main species and vegetation in the Massif Central.

Information systems for the platform "Design and analysis of biochips"

The purpose of this project is to create an information system for biologists on the design and analysis of different types of biochips. It will make it possible to keep all the information on biochip design and experiments and make this easier to analyse.
