The computing grid, theory and practice

Following exchanges made during the first theme-based seminar, the programme’s technical team has organised a series of training sessions on the computing grid for project promoters and their partners..

The series is to take place over 3 half-days, commencing at 2pm on:

• 18 June 2007Introduction to the grid and security
• 19 June 2007 : Main grid controls, submission of jobs and data management
• 20 June 2007 : Practical work

Prerequisites: familiarity with UNIX and knowledge of command-line.
Enrolment deadline: 31 May 2007

Depending on project promoters’ expressed needs, the above training programme will be complemented by specific sessions on programming and on-grid development of applications.
